Job Description

Business Development Manager/Sales Manager/New business sales; Sales, Banking, Financial Software/Services

Experience Required:

  • A minimum of 5-10 years IT software sales experience within the banking sector.
  • Proven track-record of achieving significant sales of banking software, consultancy services to corporate banks, retail banks, investment banks, corporate banks and financial institutions. Core/Retail banking experience would be highly advantageous.
  • The experience required includes an in-depth understanding of banking operations/IT processes, technical/functional implementations, and Back Office systems.
  • Ideally you will be Degree qualified in a relevant qualification and be an excellent relationship builder at all levels both with customers and strategic partners.
  • Must have excellent written, verbal communication skills and happy to travel extensively.
  • You will be driven, self-motivated, tenacious with excellent presentation skills. Adept communicator who can build partnerships based on trust.

About the role

  • Achieving sales targets, and devising sales strategies in partnership with senior sales management.
  • Devising & implementing sales strategies, and driving these forward, developing sales leads/prospects identifying target customers and sign them up accordingly. This will include new and existing customers.
  • Provide leadership on client-site implementations and consultancy projects, provide information/support to the pre-sales team. You will also
  • Keep closely in contact with customers throughout the sales cycle. Understand customers future software strategies and be instrumental in driving these forward.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with customers and key people within the banking/financial services sector.
  • Provide leadership of implementation and consultancy projects
  • There will be extensive travel required and you will also need to have excellent written/verbal communication skills in English.
  • Work closely with pre-sales providing advice when preparing presentations to prospective customers.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of all sales and service contracts. Coach and advise more junior members of the sales team.
  • Closely analyse competitor's strengths and weaknesses to understand how to differentiate the sales strategy.

They are keenly looking to recruit an experienced new business sales manager who is preferably based in South Africa within computable distance of Johannesburg or Nairobi who has an outstanding record of sales achievements in the South Africa market place.

This is a high profile senior level sales opportunity and you will have extensive experience relationship building with senior managers and key opinion leaders in the banking and financial services sector. You will be instrumental in building long-term relationships with alliance partners and identifying new market growth opportunities in order to develop and build an incredibly strong sales pipeline. You will target new and existing customers and be an excellent negotiator, who can drive sales from initial contact to signing the contract.
