Phuket's Most Popular Resort Built Illegal On National Park Land ...

Phuket?s Most Popular Resort Built Illegal On National Park Land.

By K. Olsen

Trisara is South East Asia?s and Phuket?s most intimate and exclusive resort & spa.

And according to National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department Director-General Mr. Damrong?Phidet, the resort is constructed?illegal on Phuket?s Sirinath National Park land using a fake Chanote?land title deed.

Trisara?is covering over 2 km of private coastline on 140 rai?of land. Mr. Phidet?says the Chanote?land title for this land issued back in 1994 is a fake, since The National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department stopped issuing Chanote titles for land in this area after 1964.

Now the Trisara?management company, the Three Dolphins Company Limited, has 30 days to present to the Phuket Provincial Court documentary evidence to prove that the Chanote in question was legally issued.

If, as suspected, the evidence provided is found insufficient to prove that the Chanote?was legally issued, the court will order the entire Trisara?Resort to be removed because it is on national park land. For the Three Dolphins Company Limited this will be an outright disaster and cost the company millions and millions of baht in lost revenue over the years to come. So if you are an investor and have shares in this company you should be somewhat worried!

But as we say in Denmark: ?You lie as you prepare!?
